Simon Sinek’s latest book, The Infinite Game is tailor-made for the credit union industry. Too many people, particularly in corporations. are playing finite games and playing to “win.” They’re doing this in a way that makes leaders do things that jeopardize the bigger picture health of their organizations. Sinek asks us to consider, is the flipping of this mindset, and to think about playing an “Infinite Game,” where there is nothing to “win.”
In this session we’ll explore how this applies to all credit union people: from volunteers to MSRs. Presenter Kevin Smith will explore how this flipped mindset works in lockstep with credit union principles and philosophy that is in our DNA and will help credit unions thrive for all of the tomorrows.
Renée Sattiewhite is the President and CEO of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) and is responsible for the execution of the strategic vision of the Board of Directors. … She has been associated with credit unions for over 25 years and was the first Internship Program Director for the AACUC.
In her session, “Cultivating Cultural Competency Among Leader,” we’ll take a look at the boardrooms and C-suites across the country and see that it’s clear — a diversity challenge exists. Despite decades of incremental progress, minorities are under-represented in the C-suite. Just a fraction of the top positions at the $1 billion+ CUs are held by women, African Americans, and Latinos; these groups continue to be disproportionately affected. Find out how top-performing Credit Unions are making the commitment for DEI to give their organizations a competitive advantage. Plus, discover the skills needed to create cultural competency among your leaders.
