Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP)
The CrossState Credit Union Foundation is again making the enhanced version of CUNA’s Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) available to the staff and volunteers of New Jersey and Pennsylvania credit unions. This program will be done in partnership with the Louisiana Credit Union League and CUNA. In additional to the self-study education materials, this enhanced version of the program includes eight webinars (one per module) which will review the print materials and add real-life experiences, plus one virtual meeting which will feature information on practical implementation and application of the program, networking and the proctored exam. Enhanced FiCEP enables all credit union staff to become more confident in helping members build a stronger financial future. Enhanced FiCEP is designed for credit union staff who work in the financial counseling, collections, and loan departments, or any staff members who are committed to helping members gain control of their financial future.
Please note: When you register, group registrations should be used for those who are registering three or more individuals.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 15, 2021.
How does FiCEP enhance your services?
- Proven financial counseling skills becoming a part of your credit union’s culture
- Having a certified financial counselor available helps satisfy members’ needs, as they continually look for the value of your credit union
- Differentiates your credit union with certified financial counselors on your team
- Helps members transform the way they deal with money through real-world counseling
Modeled after the CUNA Certified Financial Counselor Schools, FiCEP includes two parts with four learning modules each, and is written for all staff levels so anyone can offer financial counseling during every member interaction. When a participant successfully completes the proctored exam which covers the eight modules, they will be a Credit Union Certified Financial Counselor (CCUFC), ready and able to assist your members reach their financial goals. The sessions will be led by staff from the Louisiana Credit Union Association.
Educational Investment: Your investment is $950 per person. If two students from the same credit union share a set of books, your education investment is $825 per person. The fees does not include the cost of travel should we hold the exam in-person.
All of the webinars will be recorded and available in an archive. You can always get the information at a time that works for you. There is no additional cost for the proctoring of your exam. If you are unable to participate in taking the exam with the group, you must identify an approved proctor to be used. There is a small fee for re-testing, if necessary.
