Terry Hessler Named 2026 Volunteer of the Year

CrossState is pleased to announce that Terry Hessler, Board of Directors Chair at Belco Community Credit Union, has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the Calvin H. Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Hessler started his volunteer services in 2002 as a member of the Supervisory Committee of Belco Community Credit Union, eventually leading to his appointment to the Board of Directors in 2010. Over the years, he has held multiple committee and officer roles, culminating in his election as Board Chair in 2020. His commitment to continuous learning has pushed him to not only pursue his own development but actively encourage fellow board members to join him, creating a welcoming environment for new volunteers. 

“We can always count on Terry to be involved in our community events, from food banks to International Credit Union Day and everything in between,” said Amey R. Sgrignoli, President and CEO of Belco, in the nomination. “He consistently volunteers alongside our team. Terry’s vision extends beyond governance; it reflects a deep commitment to cooperative principles, community service, and preparing the next generation for financial success.”

The award will be presented during Awards Night at CrossState Connect Annual Convention in Atlantic City, NJ, on May 20. Hessler will be honored alongside other distinguished recipients in a celebration of leadership, service, and impact.
