Controller – New Cumberland FCU

Primary Function:

The Controller is responsible for directing all accounting functions including budget preparation, asset liability management and liquidity management. Interfaces with RKL and NCUA to assist the completion of periodic audits. Monitors controls  to ensure the prevention of fraud in areas under their direction.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• As part of the budget committee prepares the annual credit union budget.
• Directs the functions of and monitors the performance of the accounting manager and the dept.
• As part of the ALCO committee, submits data for the preparation of quarterly ALM analysis and leads the quarterly ALCO meeting.
• Monitors liquidity through cash monitoring and liquidity forecasting.
• Prepares various regulatory reporting to include the NCUA 5300.
• Works directly with auditors and examiners on annual and periodic audits.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
• Oversees the investment portfolio making strategies for strong portfolio performance.  Works with the President in deciding investment purchases.
• Assists in setting credit union rates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
• 3-5 years Credit union experience
• 5+ years’ experience in credit union accounting
