Position Summary

The talent management program manager will support a variety of enterprise-wide projects and processes related to talent management activities including succession planning, recruitment, talent review, workforce planning, workstream automation, and other processes and initiatives that expand organizational capabilities, build a talent network, and create a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Essential Functions

  • Contribute expertise and support in the development, design, and implementation of talent management initiatives to build an internal bench of high-performing talent.
  • Serve as project lead on talent management projects and initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and measurement of processes that support talent acquisition and development.
  • Support a variety of workstreams by working with colleagues to innovate, create processes and build best practices in talent management that drive business results and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and continually update the database of job descriptions, working with managers to ensure that jobs are accurately described and priced for fair and effective compensation management.
  • Gather and analyze data, feedback, KPIs, goals, costs, etc. to ensure success, relevance, effectiveness, and timeliness of programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with colleagues, managers, and vendors to maintain competitive job pricing and compensation structure.
  • Support talent acquisition team by providing relevant information and expertise to enhance selection methods and practices.
  • Conduct job analysis and create job descriptions and competency profiles to match people and capabilities to job functions and organizational strategies.
  • Contribute to creating exceptional experiences throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Support change management efforts on talent management, learning and development, cultural change, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and training, obtaining relevant professional certifications, reviewing professional publications and books, establishing personal networks, participating in professional associations, and staying informed leading-edge research, technologies, and best practices in talent management.
  • Keep informed of industry changes, trends, and best practices, and assess the potential impact on internal processes and procedures.

Additional Functions

  • Assist talent acquisition specialists with recruitment efforts during peak times or special initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Strict attention to details and thoroughness in the completion of job duties.
  • Use of critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Thorough analysis of information and use of logic to address complexity of data and information.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative relationships with others.
  • High level of coordination, organization, planning, and prioritization of work, and management of one’s own time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational development, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in talent management or human resources general practice.
  • Experience working with vendors to vet, select and implement state-of-the-art software and systems.
  • Experience in change management methods and practices.

Licenses and Certifications

  • SHRM-CP
  • Predictive Index or similar assessment tool certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of selection methods and best practices in talent acquisition and management.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, databases, Excel, and other technologies that support talent management processes.
  • Strong knowledge of job analysis methods and competency modeling and application of same to organizational jobs and functions.
  • Workable knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
  • High reasoning and analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and translate data into workable solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate and relate well to all kinds of people, build appropriate rapport and constructive, effective relationships, and use tact and diplomacy to handle situations comfortably.
  • Ability to set clear and actionable expectations, holding stakeholders accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 90 % of work hours.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
  • Ability to read a computer screen at a close distance.
  • Ability to read, talk clearly so that others understand, hear, comprehend the written and spoken word, and see.
  • Ability to use telephone to communicate with others.
  • Ability to use office equipment including computer, mobile device, copier, etc.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
  • Open floor work environment.
