2021 will be known as the start of “The Great Resignation,” says CUNA Mutual Group’s Peter Sullivan. Many companies today are facing a mass exodus of employees, both new and old. While companies are sorting through the why, we are beginning to see the true financial impacts. How many of you are changing branch hours because you can’t meet your staffing needs? NCUA Regional Director, Eastern Region, John Kutchey joins us to deliver an NCUA update. We’ll review trends in credit union examinations, NCUA’s use of technology in virtual exams, exam collection of documents and communications.

As Regional Director, he oversees the examination and supervision of federally insured credit unions in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Prior to his appointment as Regional Director, Mr. Kutchey served as the agency’s Deputy Executive Director for the NCUA. Within the NCUA, he has also held positions as Director of Risk Management and then-Region II’s Director of Supervision. He also served as a Supervisory Examiner, a Problem Case Officer and a Principal Examiner. Prior to joining the agency, he worked for various credit unions.

Jessica Vartanian is a Senior Consultant at CU Lending Advice. Jessica first began working with Credit Union’s almost a decade ago after spending the first part of her career managing retail branches in the ‘big bank’ space and working in public education.
