Information Security and Cybersecurity – A Threat and NCUA Examination Perspective

Ruth Martin is a Regional Information Systems Officer with the National Credit Union Administration.  She has worked for NCUA for over 16 years in the greater DC Metro area.  She became a regional specialist in 2018.  Prior to that she was an information security and technology subject matter examiner for approximately six years.  Ruth has experience in examining information security and cyber security in credit unions of various sizes, from smaller, less complex credit unions to multi-billion dollar credit unions and complex credit union service organizations.  She’s a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Prior to joining NCUA, Ruth was a client accounting manager for an institutional investment firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in international studies from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.  She currently lives in Stafford, Virginia with her husband and two greyhounds.  She and her husband enjoy travelling, particularly to Australia and Ireland.
